GREECE. Day 3 (Tuesday)
HOW TO OVERCOME A CRISIS, HOW TO BECOME BRAVER
The second day we were told to wake up earlier, at 7:00am, in order to be well prepared for the debate, which was about the economic crisis that Greece has suffered for the last ten years. Once we all met by the high school, they took us to the school auditorium, where we had a brief presentation, that the students gave us, about what we were going to discuss.

Nervous but ready
Clarifying our ideas
The debate began. We were distributed in six groups of either five or six people, they gave us one of the three main economic systems: capitalism, communism and socialism; and we had to solve some given problems such as emotional crisis, brain drain and brain gain.
Finally, we reach some kind of conclusion: the European Union had to remain together, in order to decide which is the most effective one, Anyway, we came to the conclusion that none of them can solve the problems by itself, it would be necessary the three system’s union to overcome them.
+Who will be the winner?
-None of them
Then, we went to eat, really fast, because we wanted to go to the city center with other Erasmus people . It was a great opportunity to get to know each other better, spending time and eating together, and to take pictures, that would become memories.
The kindest and craziest host
Our private sightseeing tour
At 18:00 we had a meeting at their high school, in the auditorium, we were going to watch a film called Kingsman. Our hosts gave us junk food and we watched the movie, laughing, because of our comments, which was one of the best parts of the day. When it finished, we had a “mini party” there, we taught them some Spanish songs and we danced, enjoying every minute with those wonderful people, regardless of tiredness.
At the end of the day, Alex’s family -my host- ordered some pizzas and Alina, the German girl who was also staying in his house, and I, decided to try some that weren’t familiar for us. I must emphasize how much I loved Greek food and how their desserts struck me the most, for being the sweetest thing I’ve ever tried.
The ones I miss the most
Only left to say that because of these trips, I’m braver now, whenever it comes to public speaking. I have to thank this Erasmus for giving me this incredible experience, which I’ll never forget, and wonderful friendships.
