GREECE. Day 5 ( Thursday)

LIFE-COACHING, TREE PLANTING, SYRTAKI AND GORGEOUS FOOD

On Thursday a life-coach visited us, she gave us a talk about optimism and pessimism. She talked about thinking that good things were going to be forever and that bad things were going to be temporary, that way we could be more optimistic. Afterwards she gave us a multiple choice test to fill out, to find out how optimistic we were. It turned out that most of us were average, not too optimistic nor optimistic, and some were even pessimistic. I think this talk made a lot of us realize that we need to be more optimistic.

After this activity, the Greek team took us tree planting, which was one of the best things I’ve ever done, it was so fun and I think everyone really enjoyed it. We hugged the tree multiple times, since to us it was kind of our baby, because we had just planted it. Our tree had a plaque that said the name of our school, the kind of tree it was and the project we were all participating in (Erasmus +). We were told that the tree would grow a lot from the day we planted it, and we promised ourselves we'll go visit it someday.

Right after planting our tree, we went to get a zumba lesson, in which I laughed so much that I even cried. Seeing everyone dance was the funniest thing ever, and it was incredibly fun. I never thought I would like zumba so much. María Prados was such a good dancer, she caught up to choreography so fast and her dancing was incredible.

Right after the zumba class.

And to finish up the day we went to the school to eat Greek food, which was the most amazing thing, it was truly delicious. María Fernández and I filled up our plates with all kinds of Greek food. We were so full by the end of dinner, but it was truly worth it because we got to try everything the Greeks students' moms' brought for us.

All the food the Greek students' moms' brought for us.

However, the night didn’t end there, after dinner we danced many Greek traditional dances, like syrtaki. For one of the dances we had to knee down and clap in a circle, while Bill and the school's principal danced in the middle of the middle of the circle. It was really different than the other dances they thought us but it was really fun to see it. I had so much fun dancing with everyone and watching everyone dance that I would say that was the moment we all bonded the most.

Right after Bill's and the principal's dance.

Afterwards, we all went to the park together and hung out there until late at night, because since it was one of the last days we were going to be there we didn't really want to go home. We played many games at the park and then had to go home.
