GERMANY: DAY 3 (WEDNESDAY)

DRESDEN DAY: RECONSTRUCTION

It was our third day already; we have made some great things. However, I found our
today´s  Dresden trip the best one. We woke up early in the morning, in order to arrive in time at the station. There we took the train that would go to Dresden. At the beginning some information was given to us about the city, and the new neighborhood, were we could see some places that had to do with our main topic protecting the environment. This neighborhood is known for having an “alternative lifestyle” whit bio shops or houses made of wood without concrete or metal reused.

After that, we went to the city center and we had the opportunity to see the Elba River and the castle which is a breathtaking view. Then we went to a really cool experience which I found a great way of showing the fortress and at the same time learning history with visual effects that were stikingly made. At the city center there are some incredible buildings, I was fascinated by their beauty, their size and that there were all like that. We had the  chance to visit the Zwinger a baroque palace and its nearby astonishing garden , one of the most astonisihing buildings of the city. A depiction of the wedding between Friedrich August and Habsburgess Maria Josefa was given  was given in a 360º audiovisual dome.

Then, we had some free time to eat and we met back together, some of us went to visit" Our lady´s  church " whereas some others chose "The transport museum" and some  others had more free time.
I went to the church and I enjoyed the  guided tour there which was about the  history of the church and how it has become a symbol of the city and of the reconciliation with the others countries after WWII.

To finish with ,we had  some spare time in which each one did what he wanted. We bought some souvenirs and visited" The transport museum" which was really interesting as well, even though we didn’t have enough time to see everything, anyway we tried to do all the interactive stuff.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to visit the castle and its collections because it was closed but we could have fun while having dinner in a burger restaurant.

We did our way back to Riesa and even though our teachers had gone to another station they could take the train so it was only a few moments of stress. At 9 o´ clock we were in Riesa ready to go to bed and rest after this exhausting day.
