NOT A FAREWELL...I SEE YOU SOON The last night we couldn´t sleep because of the party and the desolation of the impending end . We got up very early and we arrived at the train station so we tried too enjoy the last moments in Greece. We thought we will "survive" after the farewell, but it was terrible. I started to cry when my Greek mum said  to me a lot of beatiful things. My Greek sister was crying while she looked at us and smiled too. We got on the train depressed. A few minutes later you only could hear our group laughing. We were crazy! And exhausted too.                                                                                              One of the best moments of the return trip was when we met a Greek basketbal...

ALL IS "MOVING" ME...US!!! All of us were glad because we could sleep a little more. In my case I was happier than others  and the reason why was because the dog of my host family didn´t escape from me. This day, I had breakfast ( the most delicious peanut butter) and I went to High School. When we arrived, a very important and polite man introduced himself. He was the Education Representative of the area. We had a Greek celebration in the marvellous meeting room  and the topic we dealt with was the  Polythecnic Uprising. There were a lot of students singing, reading poetry, playing some instruments,...They were students of the Erasmus Project and  also some others who did not participate in the project . I could understand only a bit because they spoke in Greek, although I felt  very moved , specially due to  the songs. We had a break to go to "our café" where we were friends with the waiter. When we returned to High School we had a trainin...

LIFE-COACHING, TREE PLANTING, SYRTAKI AND GORGEOUS FOOD On Thursday a life-coach visited us, she gave us a talk about optimism and pessimism . She talked about thinking that good things were going to be forever and that bad things were going to be temporary, that way we could be more optimistic. Afterwards she gave us a multiple choice test to fill out, to find out how optimistic we were. It turned out that most of us were average, not too optimistic nor optimistic, and some were even pessimistic. I think this talk made a lot of us realize that we need to be more optimistic. After this activity, the Greek team took us tree planting , which was one of the best things I’ve ever done, it was so fun and I think everyone really enjoyed it. We hugged the tree multiple times, since to us it was kind of our baby, because we had just planted it. Our tree had a plaque that said the name of our school, the kind of tree it was and the project we were all participating in (Erasmus +). We were t...

THESSALONIKI IN FULL BLOOM On Wednesday we woke up at around 6:30 am, which was kind of tough, but worth it. We arrived at the school at about 7:30 am since the bus left at 8:00 am to Thessaloniki. On the bus María Lozano and I sat together, both on the way there and on the way back. María Prados and María Fernández sat right behind us, John and Bill in front of us, and María and Xenia (some of the students on the Greek team) sat next to us. We spent the whole way there just sleeping since we were tired from waking up so early.  María Prados sleeping on the way there. On our way there we passed Mt. Olympus , which was kind of shocking to me because the peak was so high that we couldn’t even see it. A while later, we got to Thessaloniki, where a tourist guide was waiting for us to give us a tour of the city. The place where the guide was waiting for us was incredibly beautiful, it was a view of the whole city and the sea. We took a bunch of pictures on this place. ...

HOW TO OVERCOME A CRISIS, HOW TO BECOME BRAVER  The second day we were told to wake up earlier, at 7:00am, in order to be well prepared for the debate, which was about the economic crisis that Greece has suffered for the last ten years. Once we all met by the high school, they took us to the school  auditorium, where we had a brief presentation, that the students gave us, about what we were going to discuss. Nervous but ready Clarifying our ideas   The  debate began. We were   distributed in six groups of either five or six people, they gave us one of the three main economic systems: capitalism, communism and socialism; and we had to solve some given problems such as emotional crisis, brain drain and brain gain.   Finally,  we reach some kind of conclusion: the European Union had to remain together, in order to decide which is the most effective one, Anyway, we came to   the conclusion that none of them ca...

EMOTION ONTHE SURFACE 7:30 in the morning and we're on our feet. An exciting day awaits us, our first day at Larissa´s  school, our first day of shared adventures with five other countries, new discoveries. We were all very nervous. In the morning, we had to be at 8:30 in high school. When we arrived it was amazing to see how the people who had come on other trips with us were still just as happy, to see how they had grown both physically and mentally. First of all, they took us to the auditorium, which was super large, with about 100 seats similar to those of a cinema, in short, a theatre. There, a teacher was in charge of welcoming us all with a presentation about the city. Afterwards, the students presented us with the schedule for the whole week and each and every one of us had to say our names. This was the stage where we were welcomed. If you look you can see someone familiar! As we were so hungry, we went to the cafeteria that they usually ...

OUR CULTURAL CRADLE After some rest we had breakfast and we left the hotel to have enough time to visit everything we wanted to. We took the tube and went to the Acropolis Station. The Acropolis is one of the most well-known tourist attraction all around the world. Acropolis means "the highest part of the city" in Greek, which has two clear functions, one defensive and the other one was containing the most important religious buildings as well as personalities. Some of the most famous buildings are the " Propylaia" , a monumental gateway. The temple of Nike who is the goodness of victory in Greek mythology, the Erechtheion which was dedicated to Atenea and Poseidon and the Parthenon , a former temple dedicated to Atenea who is considered the patron of Athens. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece. On the hillside we could find two theatres: Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus . From that point we also...
